What is a Soulball?
Soulball is a project that will help baseball grow in our region and connect our clubs in a better future for all!
Project will take place from January to December 2021, with the main event to be held in Belgrade, Serbia from 7. – 11. July 2021

With the long history that baseball has in Serbia, Croatia, and Hungary- many tournaments are played in each country and even more will be played in the future, especially for our youngest ballplayers!
About project?
First transnational project meeting held in Hungary with the support of the Erasmus + Programme of the European Union!
First meeting for ERASMUS+ project “SOULBALL” was held this weekend in Segedin, Hungary. Host of the meeting was Baseball/Softball Club Erd.
All the project members were present: Serbian baseball federation, Vindija baseball club, Novi Sad baseball club, and the host: Erd baseball club. All together 12 persons – coaches/managers and staff.
The Meeting was held in a nice venue of Hotel Novotel Segedin and it was divided in two days, so everybody would be fresh and focused. First part on March 27th and second on sunday, March 28th.
Participants introduced themselves and project coordinator Milan Zonic held a presentation about the project idea and its goals. Dusan Milovanovic from Serbian baseball federation explained the financial part and how to meet administrative goals of the project. Nikola Vucevic explained in person what are the most important part of project phase 1 – digital and social networking amongst kids involved in SOULBALL.
Everybody present also introduced themselves and asked all the different questions regarding execution of everybody’s tasks.
Everybody was eager to continue strong after the first 2 months of preparation. As baseball friends we all had a good time and shared many things concerning our clubs and future development.
Project coordinator Milan Zonic presented a survey that all participants will fill in and that will be used to prepare materials and strategy for phase 2 and main event that will be held in summer in Belgrade camp.
All in all the first meeting was a huge success and participants will continue with their work with more energy to meet all the goals set in our SOULBALL project!

Main “Soulball” project event – Camp in Belgrade and the 2nd Transnational Meeting!
Camp in Belgrade was held from July 8th to July 11th as the main part of the Soulball project at Ada Ciganlija sport complex which is a venue with both sport infrastructure and untouched nature. It represents the true green oasis in the middle of the city of Belgrade.
Two different activities were conducted every day during the event:
– joint practices/games with the participation of project parties
– activities connected to a healthy lifestyle such as hiking and swimming in order to raise the awareness of the importance of healthy living and responsibility to preserve nature.
In addition to our fantastic project were baseball coaches from the USA, who helped in practices and evening discussions.
Teams of Vindija (Croatia), Erd (Hungary), Novi Sad (Serbia), and Serbian baseball federation participated with more than 60 young players.
PR campaigns were in full progress as our EU funded project was going live on national TV news shows. Also, evening sessions were very successful for all teams with experience exchange and seminars about management, administration, and finance.
Camp had important guests as promoters of the project: Mr. Jovan Koprivica, a famous basketball player (Red Star basketball team), and Mr. Zeljko Brankovic, secretary general of Sports association – municipality of Belgrade.
